Aaron Scheff-Environmental Scientist by day…Urban Gardener by nights and weekends

Aaron Scheff has a background in environmental science and this knowledge informs the way he lives on and cares for the ecosystem at his own home. On much less than a quarter acre of land in the North End, the Scheff family’s labor of love turned a plot of grass and concrete into a combination of a low-water xeric-scape aesthetic and an edible landscape. Chickens are chased by little girls and fruit bearing trees turn to jam.  He is here to tell us about his philosophy on land stewardship and about the process of turning grass into garden.  Also, listen for the new ordinance enacted by Boise City encouraging urban gardening and farming.
